Principal’s Academy

June 5th, 2008

At the beginning of the week  I attended Principal’s Academy at Hope Presbyterian church. I was appointed the resident photographer using the High Powered Pentax camera.  I was very nervous about this at first because I was accustom to using my Cannon camera which is must smaller , and does not have as much power. My colleague Scott Holcomb helped me to make this transition. The one thing that  I could not get use to was the use of the auto flash and no flash button. In darker areas  I was required to use the no flash zone to force the camera to produce more light. In a lighted area I still needed to use the no flash zone. The auto flash did not work as well indoors and that was surprising to me because my Cannon camera does really well in auto flash mode.

Widgets, Blidgets What are They?

April 17th, 2008

msg-blidget.gif

Being a techie  can be  challenging and exciting all at the same time. Learning something new is always exciting.   Today , my colleague and friend Jason Parrish taught me how to insert a widget into my blog page. He first started out saying that it was going to be a breeze, well it wasn’t quite the breeze he anticipated but we got it done. To define a widget it is  a standardized on-screen representation of a control that may be manipulated by the user. Scroll bars ,buttons and text boxes are all examples of widgets and blidgets, so check out my new blidget on the side bar of my blog.  To create your own widget or blidget go to widgebox.com. And get busy.
